ECNL-RL:  06G, 04/05B, 06B, 07B, 09B, 10B

Cleveland Force SC sent 5 teams to the 2023 ECNL Playoffs! Our 06 and 07 Girls headed to San Diego, CA and our 06, 07 and 10 Boys competed in Greensboro, NC! We are proud of the hard work and effort that our teams gave not only during the playoffs but all season long as well! Special shoutout to the 06 & 07 Girls who finished as Finalists in the Showcase A Division and our  06 Boys who reached the Knockout Round of 16 in the Champions League Division!

Rob Miller

Girls ECNL Director

Girls ECNL:

Our ECNL season wrapped up in late June at the ECNL Playoffs in San Diego, CA.  The 2006 and 2007 girl’s ECNL teams traveled across the country to take on some of the top competition that the league has to offer.  Both teams went 3-0 in group play and advanced to the finals of the Showcase Cup A brackets respectively.  The 06 girls lost in penalties to SUSA ECNL after 110 minutes of open play resulted in a 1-1 draw.  The 07 girls had a back and forth affair with Scorpions ECNL which saw us finish just short in a 2-1 loss.  Both teams represented the club well at the highest level of play in the country.  There were over 1,000 college coaches in attendance over the course of the Showcase, we averaged 80-100 college coaches at each of our games.  This was a massive opportunity for our teams in terms of the college recruiting opportunities as well as continuing to make a name for ourselves as a club on the national level.  Many college coaches commented on our style of play and how comfortable we were on the ball.  All told it was an amazing experience for each of our teams and will  continue to go a long way in helping to advance our players to the next level of play.

In late May our 2008, 2007 and 2006 teams traveled to New Jersey for the PDA ECNL Showcase.  The girls played well and had a lot of “eyes” on them both from college coaches as well as US YNT staff on hand to evaluate some of the top talent in the country.  Our 2008 girls had a fantastic weekend finishing 2-1 in group play.  We were able to see glimpses of their continued progress as a couple of key injured players were able to make their way back to fitness for the event.

Bill Lawrence

Boys ECNL Director

Boys ECNL:

It has been a really exciting ECNL season. Three or our teams qualified and one other nearly qualified. The 06's qualified with an exceptionally hard fought draw with Lou City. Mansour Mbaye scored the Force goal on a free kick in the first half. They finished 3rd in the conference. The 07's qualified with a 4-1 rout of Ohio Premier to finish 2nd in the conference.  The 2010's, needing one point in their last game to qualify won 4 nil to secure their playoff berth. The u19s, coming back from a 2 nil halftime score, on the last day, to win 3-2 on the last day. Even with the win and being number two on total points they ended up being knocked by Nationals on points per game. .2% behind them and a playoff berth. The 19's finished 3rd in the the conference.

ECNL Playoffs: 06s made it to the quarterfinals. They had a great week and had around 70 college coaches see them play.  07s had a really good tournament getting 6 points out of nine and only failed to beat the undefeated team in their group. 10s played some fantastic teams and came away with a win in their last game. This week was a step forward for our ECNL teams. Everyone came away feeling ready to put in the work to get back and doing even better.

Cleveland Force SC sent 6 teams to the 2023 ECNL Regional League Central Championships! Quite the achievement from all of our teams that put in the work all season long to make it to the postseason. Congratulations to the 06G ECNL-RL for making it to the semi-finals of the U17 Group A bracket and to the 09B ECNL-RL for making it to the semi-finals in the U14 Bracket!

Visnu Marahaj

Boys U15-U19

ECNL-RL Director

Boys ECNL-RL:

We are extremely proud of our 2007, 2006, and 2004/05 ECNL-RL teams for advancing to the ECNL-RL Regional Playoffs in St. Louis after a successful and hard-fought last set of league games vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds. These teams joined our 2009 and 2010 ECNL-RL boys teams who clinched playoff spots earlier in the spring. Cleveland Force SC were represented in 5 out of the 6 age groups in the ECNL-RL Boys Playoffs. Congratulations to our players and families for this accomplishment!

State Cup & GLA Champions

Congrats to our CFSC Teams!

Congratulations to the Cleveland Force SC 12B White South team who became GLA CHAMPIONS winning the U12 Boys Premier Division after defeating SP Soccer Academy 6-1!

More congratulations to our 2011 Girls Pre-ECNL White, 2012 Girls Pre-ECNL Blue and 2013 Boys White West on winning the 2023 Ohio State Cup! Also, tremendous work from our 2011 Girls Pre-ECNL Blue team finishing as Finalists!

We also had teams showing an overall a positive weekend at State Cup with great display of our style of play:

  • 2006B Volt had a tough 1-0 loss in quarterfinals after being undefeated in group play.
  • 2006B and 2004/05B ECNL-RL failed to advance to semis due to goal differential after being undefeated in group play.

USL Academy, League 2 & W League

Season Updates

The USL Academy U20 Boys team came out of the gate well in the first game on June 11. They beat Kings Hammer 2 nil. The first goal came off an excellent press. Jack Roman won the ball about 25 yards from goal, beat a man and drove the ball into the lower corner. The second goal came off an exceptional combination of passes that led to a cross from Stefan Velickovic. Lazar Ivanis got on the other end of the cross and played the ball back against the grain to Braden Lamb who played the ball into the empty net.

- Bill Lawrence - USL Academy Boys Director

Our USL Academy U20 Girls team is represented by players from our 05-08 ECNL girls.  A group of them had the chance to compete together in March at the USL Academy Cup in March.  They have been training together since January in addition to their ECNL team training sessions.  We will play our first Academy game July 11th in Pittsburgh against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.  Many of our Academy players have also had an opportunity to compete with our senior women’s team in the USL W League.  We truly believe that having these development opportunities for our youth players will be beyond beneficial to them in their continued development.  We will play a couple of games throughout the month of July.

- Rob Miller - USL Academy Girls Director

With a record of 5-3-3, the Cleveland Force SC USL 2 team are currently in the hunt for the second playoff spot in the USL Valley Division with one regular season game remaining. With a win or draw on the road against Toledo Villa FC on July 15th, CFSC can clinch a playoff berth in just our second season!

Special shoutout to U20 USL Academy Player, Grant Blake (06), for making his USL 2 debut this season and starting in our most recent game against FC Buffalo!

Our USL W team wrapped up their inaugural season at the end of June.  The competition was  top notch and our players had an opportunity to continue to develop before heading back to their college teams later this month.  We fielded the youngest team in the league this year, and while our record didn’t indicate it, we were one of the toughest opponents in the league.  All but one of our losses came by a 1 goal margin.  We grew leaps and bounds throughout the course of the season and we look forward to continuing to grow the program and player pool.  We learned a lot, as a club, about the league structure, scheduling and player recruitment.  We are looking forward to next season in the USL W League!
